Amaurys Grullon is a multi-talented artist, creative social entrepreneur, and community leader from the South Bronx. He serves as the co-founder and chief executive officer of Bronx Native and Tag Up Studios, and he leads Change the Narrative, a nonprofit focused on equity, social progress, and reshaping public perception of the borough he calls home.
From 2014 to 2017, Grullon studied at Bronx Community College, where he earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in digital design. This background in visual arts and design continues to influence both his creative work and his entrepreneurial direction.
Motivated by a desire to shift long-standing perceptions, Grullon launched Bronx Native in 2015 with his sister Roselyn after noticing the Bronx lacked its own dedicated platform for culture-driven merchandise and storytelling. What started as a small T-shirt line has grown into a cultural movement. Today, Bronx Native functions as a community hub, retail shop, media platform, and space for programming, hosting open mics, youth events, food distributions, and financial literacy sessions.
Grullon’s efforts have led to collaborations with major companies such as Nike, PayPal, NYCxDESIGN, Mastercard, Netflix, the New York Yankees, and Shake Shack. His work and mission have been highlighted by The New York Times, ABC, Forbes, Business Insider, and The New York Post. He also brought his message of cultural pride and social justice to the TEDxBronx stage, sharing his personal journey and vision.
Across all of his projects, Amaurys Grullon blends artistry, business innovation, and community empowerment. He honors Bronx culture, amplifies local stories, and channels creativity into meaningful social impact.
