Celebration of Our People, Our Culture, Our Bronx
By Amaurys Grullon, Founder of Bronx Native
Can I get a YERRR! — this past weekend was something special. The 40th Annual Bronx Halloween Parade went down, and let me tell you — it was a whole vibe. Culture, creativity, and community were shining bright — Bronx style.
On Saturday, October 25, 2025, the streets of Southern Boulevard and Westchester Avenue were lit. Thousands of us pulled up — kids rockin’ fly costumes, families out deep, local artists painting the streets with color and love. What started back in the ’80s as a small neighborhood parade has grown into one of the biggest South Bronx events — a yearly celebration that shows the world what the Bronx community is really about: pride, passion, and people power.

40 Years of Bronx Energy
Forty years strong — that’s legacy right there. The Bronx Halloween Parade ain’t just a holiday thing — it’s a movement. Every year, it brings together the soul of the Bronx — the music, the art, the hustle, the love. This year? Straight-up legendary.
The Bronx always shows up, but this year — we showed out in a way that had the whole city watching.
Bronx Native: Born from the Block
Hosting the 40th Bronx Halloween Parade as the founder of Bronx Native was a real honor. For me, this wasn’t just about an event — it was about legacy, unity, and community love.
See, Bronx Native has always been more than a clothing brand. It’s a movement. A voice for the people who built this borough. Through bold design, storytelling, and unapologetic pride, we’ve been repping the Bronx in ways the world can’t ignore.
From our Bronx Native Shop in Mott Haven, we’ve created a space that’s part store, part art gallery, part creative hub. It’s where local artists, entrepreneurs, and dreamers come together to create something real. When you walk into our space, you don’t just buy a tee — you feel the energy, the history, and the love of the Bronx community.
The Role of Local Businesses in Supporting Bronx Culture
One thing that makes the Bronx Halloween Parade so dope is how much the local business scene gets involved. We’re talking food vendors from the block, clothing designers from Mott Haven, artists from Hunts Point, barbers, bakers, and shop owners — all showing up and showing love.
The Bronx is full of small businesses that keep the culture alive. From corner stores to community art studios, they’re the heartbeat of the borough. At this year’s parade, seeing so many of them represented was powerful. We had local brands setting up booths, selling handcrafted goods, and feeding the people — all while supporting each other.
That’s the Bronx way. We build together. We rise together. We are the community.
The Parade Was a Cultural Stage
This wasn’t just a parade — it was a South Bronx block party meets cultural showcase. Every float, costume, and performance told a story. Some paid tribute to Bronx legends — from hip-hop pioneers to community heroes. Others celebrated the new generation of Bronx creatives pushing boundaries in fashion, music, and art.
When I looked out and saw thousands of people — from the OGs who’ve been coming since the early days to the kids who’ll carry this tradition forward — I knew the Bronx spirit is alive and thriving.
At Bill Rainey Park, we kept that energy going with:
It wasn’t just a festival — it was a Bronx community reunion.
The Bronx: Always Rising
The Bronx has always been the epicenter of creativity. We birthed hip-hop. We flipped art. We made culture. And we’re still doing it — every single day.
The Bronx Halloween Parade represents that legacy — 40 years of unity, style, and self-expression. It shows that the Bronx ain’t just a place; it’s an energy. An attitude. A movement that continues to inspire the world.
From Mott Haven to Soundview, from The Hub to Highbridge, we’re proving that when we come together — we create magic.
A Message to My Bronx People
To everyone who came out — thank you. You made history. Every smile, every drumbeat, every costume reminded me why I love this borough.
The Bronx is beautiful. The Bronx is powerful. The Bronx is home.
And as long as I’m breathing, I’m gonna keep reppin’ it with everything I got — for the next 40 years and beyond.
Peace, love, and BX forever.
